Carine’s Porteur

Carine was looking for a city bike for her day-to-day ride to work that could be transformed into a touring bike for longer day or week-end trips. The choice fell on a classic elegant lugged porteur, adapted to her size with 26” wheels.

The frame is build from Columbus SL tubes for the front triangle and the fork, Zona in the rear - light and comfy. The wheels are Velo Orange rims and a SUN XCD hub in the rear, SON dynamo in the front, with Rene Herse Naches Pass tires. The rain protection is provided by Honjo. The drive train is Shimano Deore XT coupled with a Velo Orange Grand Cru crankset. Lights are from Supernova. Brakes are Avid Shorties with Velo Orange levers. The periphery is a mix of Nitto, Soma and Stronglight components. A nice Berthoud Marie Blanque saddle and a custom porteur rack to finish the build. The paint job was done by M-Level.
