Cédric’s light gravel with Campagnolo Ekar
Cédric was looking for a very lean and light machine for road and gravel adventures. He had very specific ideas of what kind of components should be put on this bike, setting the emphasis on “made in Europe” or made by companies who make an effort to manufacture locally as much as possible, hence the choice for an artisan hand built frame.
The frame was made from Columbus Spirit tubes with internal cable routing for the brake and transmission. The particularity about this frame is that it is the first frame with an inhouse paintjob, whohoo ! Having access to a powder coating facility in a nearby tech shop allowed me to get trained and included this service from now on in the portfolio for clients who choose to go for a single color and resilient paint. Obviously this only works on the frame, so the beautiful Enve Adventure Fork keeps its natural teint.
The very light wheelset is made with Enve G23 rims, a SON 28 dynamo hub (to power the Sinewave Beacon 2 frontlight with charger) and a White Industries CLD rear hub with Sapim CX Ray spokes built by Patrick from FNX wheels. Cédric chose to roll on Tufo Tires (Gravel Thundero 700x42c). He says he only had good experiences with these tires. They felt great when putting them on and taking the bike out on a test ride.
On the bike is a complete Campagnolo Ekar group with a 38T chain ring and a 10-44 cassette. Finishing kit is Ritchey WCS with a Venturemax handlebar. There is a White Industries headset, the Supernova taillight 2 with a custom mount, and a FIZIK Terra Argo X3 saddle, all assembled with lots of love.
