Marc’s Long Distance Road Bike
We’ve got here a light long distance road bike with a frame made from Columbus Life tubes and a Reynolds 631 fork. The wheels were laced by Patrick from FNX wheels: great value for money H plus Son Hydra rims, Hope Pro5 rear hub and a SON 28 dynamo in the front, 700x35c Panaracer Gravel King tires which smoothen out even the bumpier roads.
The lights are also from SON, connected to the Forumslader to never run out of juice while on the road. The transmission is an all mechanical Shimano Ultegra with a beautiful White Industries R30 Crankset allowing smaller chainrings and therefore more comfortable gear ratios (48/32 with a 11/34 cassette). The finishing kit is the reliable Ritchey WCS. The saddle and the fenders were made in France by our friends from Berthoud Cycles.
I made a little support for Marc’s Restrap Handlebar bag, powder coated in black along with the fenders. For the frame Marc wanted to see the fillets so I just powder coated it with a clear coat. Marc is willing to test whether this will be resilient enough to protect the frame in the long run.
