Pierre’s Everyday Bike

Pierre was looking for a bike that works for commuting in the streets of Paris as well as going on longer trips and maybe even a few more sporty rides - a bike he can use every day. We put together a very unique bike for him: under an all-black paint job hides a classy silver brazed Columbus XCR frame. The transmission is something you don’t see very often (based on Pierre’s request): Shimano Alfine 11 internal geared hub with Microshift drop bar brifters. Luckily the clients can get quite innovative with their requirements. I would have probably not chosen this set up but after a first test ride I must say the shifting performance is convincing.

Wheels were built as usual by Matthias : Velocity Aileron 650b rims and a SON Dynamo hub in the front to power the SON lights with resilient Schwalbe Marathon 38 mm tires to surive the commutes of Paris. What else is on the bike: Juin Tech R1 hybrid brakes, Brooks Cambium C15 saddle, Berthoud fenders (painted) and Ritchey WCS finishing kit, and, to top it off, a front rack built in-house. The bike will be delivered with a Tubus rear rack (not in the pic) to hold the things necessary for the daily commute. Otherwise it is pure “Fahrvergnügen”.
