Wilfrid’s Pinion Gates All-road

Wilfried‘s all-road bike is a première: first bike with a Pinion gearbox (a C.12 in this case) and Gates Carbon Belt Drive transmission.

To combine the gearbox with a Ritchey Venturemax drop bar we went for the Cinq shifters (based on TRP). Those are a bit longer than the usual Sram or Shimano models which was considered during the frame design. They work like a charm.

The wheels as usual were built in-house by Matthias: our favorite Velocity Blunt SS with a SON 28 dynamo hub to create the juice for the “Forumslader” charger and a Pinion hub in the rear (a DT Swiss in disguise). Comfy Teravail Rampart 650x47b tires.

The frame is made from Columbus Max tubes in the front and Zona tubes in the rear with rocker dropouts by Paragon Machine Works to create the belt tension. We added lots of inserts to be prepared to carry anything future adventures require.

Other parts and pieces on the bike: SON lights with a rear light custom integration into the Brooks Cambium C15, TRP hydraulic brakes that come with the shifters, Ritchey WCS components and Honjo fenders.
